Gaming News: Star Wars Battlefront to Release November 17 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Star Wars Battlefront, being developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, has been announced for a launch on November 17 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. The company has also released a reveal trailer.

The trailer with 'game engine footage' is EA trying to showcase photorealistic visuals, and also boasts of it on its dedicated Star Wars Battlefront website, alongside 'authentic sound design' and original Star Wars props and locations. The game will take place on Hoth, Endor, Tatooine, and Sullust - a "previously unexplored planet."
The game lets players take on the rolls iconic Star Wars characters like Darth Vader and Boba Fett, and fight for both the Empire or Republic. Players can switch between both first person and third person perspectives, and EA touts both offline and online co-op with shared unlocks, apart from 'epic multiplayer' battles.
Apart from ground-based combat, on speederbikes, snowspeeders and command AT-ATs, Star Wars Battlefront provides aerial combat as well - with X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and even the Millennium Falcon.
DICE has already announced an expansion pack on planet Jakku due to launch December 8, and those who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront get access a week early on December 1.
The Star Wars Battlefront trailer was shown off at the Star Wars Celebration event on Friday, while Lucasfilm on Thursday released the second teaser of the much-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens movie, which is set to release this Christmas.
Other EA studios, BioWare and Visceral Games, are also making Star Wars games, though so far even tentative release dates have not been mentioned.
